The Shire of Augusta-Margaret River is giving the region’s youngsters a chance to win a new iPad Mini as part of a short film competition outlining what they love about the region.

Shire community development trainee Shannon Walker, pictured, said the competition was another way to harness feedback for residents aged 12 to 25 and find out what they wanted to see made available for young people.

“We want you to show us some of your favourite parts of the region and let us know what you think is needed for young people,” she said.

“We want to see creativity, innovation and ideas, and most importantly, we want young people to have their say on this region’s future.”

The films should be about four minutes long and submitted as soon as possible.

Films would be uploaded to the Shire’s Your Say website and then screened during the Margaret River Pro’s Healthy Habitz youth festival from May 3 to 7.

Attendees will vote for their favourite film and the winner will score an iPad Mini 4.

Ms Walker said the competition was part of the Strengthening Youth Plan 2018-2022 consultation process.

“The content you create in your videos will influence the development of the Shire’s new youth plan,” she said.
