Chilling new details emerge of how police struggled to subdue a violent intruder during his rampage at a childcare centre before he ended his own life.
Police were called to Habitat Early Learning in Peregian Springs, Sunshine Coast, on Monday evening about 6pm after reports of a man breaking into the centre forcing a lockdown.

Five workers and six children were forced to lock themselves inside just before pick-up time after Reubhan Ralph, 28, smashed his way into the centre armed with a knife and started making threats.
Officers arrived within 20 minutes to find Ralph self-harming.
“Police were confronted with a male who had self-inflicted injuries,” Acting Inspector Scott Wiggins said.

Each probe delivered an electrical charge of about 1200 volts, but this was insufficient to immobilise him or prevent him from harming himself.
“Police have attempted to provide assistance to that male and sadly he has succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the scene,” Wiggins said.
7NEWS understands the officers who witnessed the incident have all taken leave.
It is unclear whether or when they will return to the service.
Police Minister Dan Purdie praised the officers and staff involved, labelling the incident ‘tragic and horrific’.
The centre will remain closed for the rest of the week.

Ralph was an OnlyFans creator who was charged for live-streaming a dangerous crime spree through South Bank Parklands in Brisbane in a stolen car.
He was sentenced and released on parole in June.
