Farm dog Eulooka Hoover sold for Australian record of $35,200 at auction
A working farm dog has been sold for a staggering $35,200, setting an Australian record.
Kelpie “Eulooka Hoover” was auctioned off to an anonymous sheep and cattle grazier on Sunday in western Victoria.
The auction smashed the previous national record sale price for a working dog — set at $25,000 in 2019.
The two-year-old kelpie is an “all-rounder” on the farm, able to work with both cattle and sheep, according to trainer David Lee.

“He'll basically talk to you, so before you let him out of the cage in the morning you ask him if he's ready to go to work, and he'll always tell you he is.
“If you're sitting down for smoko out in the bush he'll always put a smile on your face, which makes your day enjoyable.”
