A man is set to stand trial over a double fatal horror crash that killed his uncle and their mate.
Wade Doyle has pleaded not guilty to causing death by dangerous driving following the crash on Kangaroo Island off the coast of South Australia.
Craig Doyle, 55, and Ed Burrows, 26. were killed in the crash at Cuttlefish Bay on December 10 last year.
Mr Doyle is alleged to have been driving when the ute the trio were travelling in rolled off Cape Willoughby Road and crashed into a roadside tree.
Mr Doyle, 42, from Hackham West, was charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving while with an alcohol level of above 0.08.
At a brief hearing at Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday, he entered pleas of not guilty to both counts.
He will stand trial in South Australia’s District Court, with a next date scheduled to take place in August.
Wade Doyle left court accompanied by supporters, shielding his face with a sheet of paper.
He did not make any comment to the waiting media as he left court.
He is next due to appear at South Australia’s District Court on August 14.
Following the crash, tributes were paid to both of the dead men, who worked together on the five-star Sea Dragon Kangaroo Island hotel.
“Our hearts are absolutely broken,” Mr Doyle’s daughter Kimberley wrote on social media.
“We currently have no words, but we wanted our friends and families to know. We love you so much dad and will miss you forever and ever.”
