Eaton celebrated a club legend’s milestone in fine style with a 13-point win over Dunsborough on Sunday in round 15 of the South West Football League women’s season.
Inaugural Boomer Jessica Ruland played her 100th game in Eaton colours in the 3.2 (20) to 1.1 (7) victory at Glen Huon Reserve in tough conditions.
Ruland has been part of Eaton’s women’s side since day one, having also represented the SWFL at the country championships, along with 17 games for Peel in the WAFLW.
Bethany Bond was the star for Eaton, kicking three goals as the Boomers find themselves on the cusp of their first ever finals berth, sitting one win behind Carey Park in fifth and equal with Augusta-Margaret River in sixth.
HBL have almost guaranteed a finals berth after taking down three-time reigning premiers Bunbury by 39 points.
The 6.9 (45) to 1.0 (6) win was their third in a row to give themselves a three-game gap between the Bulldogs in third with only four matches to play in the season.
Emma Faulkner continued her great form in front of the big sticks, booting three goals to bring her tally to 15 for the season while Mahkenna Chapman kicked two in her first game for the season.
The Lions have put themselves in the best possible position to win their first final in their history, with a double chance almost locked in.
Bulldogs’ star forward Daisy Rigby was sorely missed in the loss with the side now sitting on equal wins with Donnybrook, who have one more game to play than Bunbury who are chasing a historic four-peat.
