A bushfire in Perth’s east has been downgraded to an act and watch level but emergency services warn there is still a threat to lives and homes.

The warning is in place for people in the Shire of Mundaring. Those in the area bounded by Great Eastern Highway, Coulston Road, Approach Road, Clayton Road, Victor Road, Beenong Road and Darlington Road in parts of Boya, Darlington, Greenmount, Helena Valley and Hovea are affected.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services has urged residents to stay alert as the conditions are changing and the fire has not been extinguished.

“Stay alert and monitor your surroundings as conditions could change,” the alert stated.

“You may need to act quickly so ensure you are prepared if the situation gets worse.”
