South West tourism operators celebrated at Australian Tourism Awards

Accommodation providers and tourism experiences from the South West have been recognised on the national stage, taking home honours at the Australian Tourism Awards.
The awards night at Fremantle Prison on March 6 united about 800 tourism leaders and industry representatives from across Australia.
Broadwater Resort Busselton was awarded silver in the 3–3.5 star accommodation category.
Broadwater Resort Busselton marketing and communications manager Kylie Cornwall said the national recognition was an incredible achievement for the team and reflected the passion and dedication that goes into creating exceptional guest experiences.

“To be acknowledged among Australia’s leading tourism operators is something we are immensely proud of, and we are honoured to represent Busselton and the South West on a national stage,” she said.
Mandalay Holiday Resort also secured silver, earning the accolade in the caravan and holiday parks category.
Mandalay Holiday Resort general manager Rhys Johnson said achieving the award involved a team effort.
“We built up the park over 62 years as a family owned and operated business, and three generations have built us towards this point,” he said.
“Ultimately, a huge part of the awards comes from guest reviews and guest experiences, so the only way that is achieved is when all the staff are looking after our guests at a really high level.
“To be up against the best of the best . . . it’s where we want to be as a business.”
Accommodation stand-outs continued with The Timothée Resort in Busselton named a finalist in the 4-4.5 star deluxe accommodation category while Heyscape was named a finalist in self-contained accommodation.
Tourism experiences in the South West were also recognised with Margaret River Discovery Co. claiming bronze in the tour and transport operators category, while Cape2Camp was also named a finalist for adventure tourism.
