The pitch invader who ran onto the field at Optus Stadium wearing his holey jocks during the grand final has launched a fundraiser to help pay for his fine.

Abra Bol is facing a hefty financial penalty of up to $12,000 and a three-year ban from the stadium after he stripped down to his underwear, socks and sneakers before running on to the field at the final change of Melbourn’s historic win over the Western Bulldogs.

The 22-year-old — a cousin of Olympian Peter Bol — wore a black T-shirt with the word “security” while posting a video on social media before the stunt showing off what he claimed was his “whistle and fake ID”.

However, it is understood there is no evidence to suggest he actually impersonated a security officer at the venue. The attire did not resemble the uniform worn by security guards that night.

It is also understood Mr Bol jumped from the public seating area, over permanent fencing, onto the field.

An Optus Stadium spokeswoman said the venue would assist WA Police with its investigation, while also completing their own “to get a full and accurate understanding of the incident”.

“This kind of offence is serious — not to mention stupid and dangerous — and as such it rightly attracts a significant fine of up to $12,000 and the likelihood of a significant ban from all events at Optus Stadium,” she said.

Mr Bol has taken to social media again to advertise a fundraiser on website GoFundMe, which has so far only raised $1000 of its $12,000 goal.

“Perth stadium GRAND FINAL streaker is facing 12K fine for his stunt during the 2021 grand final (Melbourne VS Western Bulldogs),” the website states.

“Please help us raise funds for the cause and entertainment for PERTH CITY!”

It is understood Mr Bol is running the fundraiser, with the organiser sharing the same name as his Instagram account.

“That was funny as hell,” one person, who donated $10 said.

“Way better than Birds of Tokyo.

“But buy some new (jocks), mate.”

Mr Bol will face Perth Magistrates Court on October 5 charged with trespass.
