Geraldton teenager Kye Zachary Scott charged over five alleged rapes in seven-day period

Police have charged a Geraldton teenager over five alleged rapes which occurred over a seven-day period in December. Kye Zachary Scott appeared in Geraldton Magistrate’s Court last Thursday where his lawyer, Julia Gray, indicated he would plead not guilty to all charges. The 19-year-old has been charged with five counts of aggravated sexual penetration without consent, one count of aggravated indecent assault, and impeding another person’s breathing or blood circulation by applying pressure to their neck. Details about the alleged offending did not emerge in court, although the charges indicate police believe the incidents occurred on five occasions between December 12 and 20 at locations in Spalding, Waggrakine and the West End, when Mr Scott was 18. Mr Scott was remanded to appear in the District Court on August 5. Prosecutor Sgt Troy Gildersleeve filed an application to have all the matters heard together in the District Court, which was approved by Magistrate Chris Miocevich. “In relation to all matters, they are remanded through to August 5,” he told Mr Scott. “In the meantime the prosecution will get all their evidence together and serve it on your lawyer.”
