Two women are facing drug-related charges after a random breath test in Tasmania uncovered $1.3 million worth of ice and $750,000 cash in their car.

The pair were pulled over on Wednesday afternoon during a traffic operation at Deloraine in the state's north.

A 48-year-old woman from NSW returned a positive oral fluid test, sparking a police search that discovered the illegal cargo.

Police say the 1.3 kilograms of methylamphetamine has a street value of $1.3 million.

The woman and another, who is aged 44 and also from NSW, were expected to appear in Launceston Magistrates Court on Friday.

They are accused of trafficking in a controlled substance and dealing in the proceeds of crime.
