Firearm owner Karl Arnold Davey facing string of charges over explosives allegedly found in Perth Hills home

A licensed firearm owner is facing a string of charges over explosive devices police allege were found at his property in the Perth hills. The alleged explosives were found at Karl Arnold Davey’s High Wycombe property after the Bomb Response Unit raided his Edward Road home about 10.30am on Thursday. Detectives were initially called to the home to serve an authority to suspend the 42-year-old’s firearm license and seize his firearms. During the raid, officers allegedly located and seized a cache of improvised explosive devices, illicit drugs, ammunition, firearms and other prohibited weapons. Mr Davey was charged with 20 offences including 10 counts of making or possessing explosives under suspicious circumstances and two counts of carrying or possessing a prohibited weapon. He was remanded in custody at Armadale Magistrates Court on Friday and will return to court on March 9 for a bail application.
