Man injured after police shooting in suburban street

A man has been shot by police after allegedly threatening officers with a knife.
Officers were called to Ewing Road in Logan Central, south of Brisbane, on Saturday night after reports of a man armed with a knife making threats, police said.
"Upon arrival, officers attempted to engage with the man before he approached them with the weapon, and he was subsequently shot by police," the Queensland Police Service said in a statement.
Officers immediately provided first aid before the man was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.
No police officers or other members of the public were injured.
Police said the shooting would be investigated by the Ethical Standards Command, with oversight from the Crime and Corruption Commission.
