Police officer hospitalised after being kicked in the face outside Metropolis nightclub in Fremantle

A police officer was rushed to hospital after being allegedly assaulted outside a nightclub in Perth’s south on Sunday morning. Police say the incident occurred outside Metropolis nightclub in Fremantle about 4.15am. It’s understood a 26-year-old male kicked an officer in the face while he was already under arrest and being taken to a police car. The officer then fell and struck his head on the ground. Fremantle detectives have taken carriage of the investigation. The officer was then taken to hospital with minor injuries. The 26-year-old male is yet to be charged and remains in police custody.
