A 16-year-old boy has died after a horror collision with a four-wheel drive on Bussell Highway south of Bunbury on Monday afternoon.

The boy died at the scene when a grey Mitsubishi Outlander collided with his mountain bike at the intersection of Bussell Highway and Jaymon Road in Stratham at 3.55pm.

The driver of the Outlander — a woman in her 40s — was not injured.

Detectives from the major crash squad would like to speak to anyone who saw the 4WD or the bike in the area prior to the crash.
