A man has died after he lost control of his vehicle and struck a power pole in the State’s Mid West.

Police say the 35-year-old driver of a silver Ford Falcon was travelling west along Chapman Valley Road near Wahn Avenue in Waggrakine, about 1.17am, when he left the road and crashed into a power pole.

Emergency services rushed to the Geraldton crash site but the man’s injuries were so severe he could not be saved. He died at the scene.

The 35-year-old man was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Major Crash investigators are examining the scene and have appealed for information or vision.
