
An unattended candle is believed to have sparked a house fire that tore through a home in Perth’s north on Saturday night.
Emergency crews rushed to the Noel Court property in Wanneroo after receiving multiple calls about 8.45pm.
The blaze was extinguished by 9.20pm but not before flames ripped through about 60 per cent of the home.
DFES said the entire house was damaged by smoke.
About two hours later, fire crews were called to a house fire in Seville Grove, in Perth’s South East.
The Rason Court blaze was reported about 10.35pm and about 50 per cent of the was home engulfed.
The fire was contained and under control by 11pm.
Police have since charged a 36-year-old man from Armadale with criminal damage by fire.
It will be alleged the man set fire to the home at about 9.15pm and it was ultimately “completely destroyed”.
The man is due to face Perth Magistrates Court on Sunday.
