16yo boy accused of transporting party drugs from Perth to Geraldton for distribution over school holidays

Geraldton detectives say they seized more than 20g of MDMA and DMT from a 16-year-old boy who is accused of bringing the drugs from Perth for “distribution” over the school holidays. Detectives arrested the Wandina boy when he got off a bus at a stop near Bayly Street in Geraldton about 6.10pm on Sunday, January 1. Det. Sen Sgt Bruce McDonald alleged 20.42g of MDMA, 3.25g of DMT, cash and other drug-related items were discovered in the teen’s possession. He alleged the boy was acting alone and transported the drugs from Perth to Geraldton to distribute during school holidays. “These drugs could be fatal or cause serious injuries if taken and we urge the community to keep working with us, supplying important information as we target the trafficking of illicit drugs into our community,” he said. The 16-year-old was charged with two counts of possessing a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply and possession of stolen or unlawfully obtained property. He was released on bail and will appear in Geraldton Children’s Court on Tuesday, January 17.
