19-year-old woman charged following alleged Tarcoola Tavern Bottlemart robbery

Geraldton detectives have arrested and charged a 19-year-old woman with robbery after she allegedly drank alcohol inside a bottle shop and wrestled with a staff member. About 3pm on Saturday, February 3, police say a 19-year-old woman entered the Geraldton Motor Inne Bottlemart, selected alcohol and began drinking it without paying. Police claim a male staff member attempted to prevent her from leaving and the 19-year-old allegedly pushed him. A short wrestle began and the accused woman’s behaviour escalated. Police said for the safety of staff and customers, the staff member decided to retreat and the woman left the store. Police arrested the 19-year-old a short time later and she was charged with robbery. She appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on Sunday and was remanded in custody. The woman will reappear in the Geraldton Magistrates Court on Thursday, February 8.
