2023 Chapman Valley Show goes off without a hitch for the 73rd year

The Chapman Valley Show’s 73rd outing on Saturday was a celebration of the resilience of the Mid West community and showcased local talent in all its facets. Carnival classics such as sideshow alley kept the kids entertained, while adults focused on the quick shearing, log chopping and various exhibitions for grain, vegetables, arts and craft. Hosted on on the same day as the Great Northern Football League’s grand final, loyal show-goers were not deterred with a crowd of about 6500 coming along to celebrate the agricultural region and support the Mid West community. The community of more than 100 volunteers dedicated seven months of planning to make the day come to life, featuring $30,000 worth of free entertainment. “It was absolutely fantastic, the weather was perfect, the crowds came through early. All the vendors seemed happy,” said show president Darrell Forth. Mr Forth thanked Police Minister Paul Papalia and Mid West Development Commission CEO Nils Hay for opening the event. The Northampton Show will be held on Saturday, September 16. “We wish them all the best and personally encourage people to attend and support the Northampton community,” Mr Forth said.
