Accused girls face Geraldton court over brutal bashing captured on video

Two girls accused over a brutal assault captured on video and broadcast on social media appeared before Geraldton Children’s Court today.

The girls – aged 14 and 15 – are each charged with assault occasioning bodily harm, common assault and acts or omissions causing bodily harm.

The charges relate to incidents on June 7, August 29 and October 26 – all in Rangeway.

The most recent incident was captured on video and described by Geraldton Police Station officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Brad Bird as one of the worst he had seen in 28 years of policing.

A third girl, aged 14, was charged with two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, in relation to the June and August incidents.

The girls were not required to enter pleas.

Their bail was extended and they will reappear before the same court later this month.
