Qantas have increased their services between Geraldton and Perth by adding two new flights on Tuesdays.

QantasLink’s new Tuesday morning flights will start on April 30 with a 7am flight from Perth to Geraldton and a returning flight from Geraldton to Perth, departing at 8.40am.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn said it was great the carrier had increased their flights, after Virgin reduced their service earlier this year.

“It was a blow for us as it lowers the options and opportunities for people to travel to here,” he said.

“As a regional capital we are cementing ourselves as a destination of choice and we want to have the necessary options.

“This is a great outcome for Geraldton and we thank Qantas for stepping in to meet the demand.”

With the additional flights, Qantas will operate 24 flights each week between Geraldton and Perth with their Fokker F100 aircraft.

Qantas Executive Manager Sales & Distribution Igor Kwiatkowski said the additional flights created more options for Geraldton travellers.

“We’ve responded to feedback by adding flights on Tuesdays when we know people want to travel,” he said.
