The WA Museum Geraldton will be transformed into an adults-only science bonanza tonight for the first Scinapse After Dark.

Guests will be able to embrace their inner child and explore the exciting world of science through several hands-on exhibits from Scitech.

While Scitech will reveal the secrets of chemistry in the Element of Surprise show, people can pop on a pair of beer goggles and compete in a steadiness race.

Guests will also have the chance to try out the collaborative virtual reality game, Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes.

Scinpase chairwoman Emma Jackson said the event aimed to show a different side of science.

“People have a very narrow view of what science is,” she said.

“We want to change that perception of people in lab coats being boring.

“Science is everywhere.

“It’s a part of so much.

“We want to encourage adults to explore science in a fun and entertaining way.”

Musician Alexia Parenzee and members of The Comedy Emporium improv troupe will also perform during the event.

Tickets for Scinapse After Dark can be bought at the WA Museum website, at museum.wa.gov.au/scinapse.
