All the glitz, glamour and green at Geraldton Christian College’s Shrek-themed Year 12 school ball

Geraldton was alive with the sounds of the swamp on Saturday as Geraldton Christian College students held their Shrek-themed ball in the college hall. As has become tradition for many school balls, students gathered with family and friends to have their photos taken at the marina before making their way to school in a variety of transportation. The ball was attended by the graduating Year 12 class, guests and staff from the college. About 60 students and staff enjoyed the night, with a light supper, savoury food and desserts served by caterer Angie Fondacaro. Amid all the Shrek-themed decorations was a photo booth which was made to look like Shrek’s hut. Year 12 students chose five themes, with the ball committee picking Shrek — which was kept a secret from the students until the big night. Past themes have included Alice in Wonderland, Star Wars, Peter Pan, Avatar, Under the Sea and Willy Wonka.
