Alleged child molester, 53, faces Geraldton court
A 53-year-old man accused of molesting a 13-year-old girl in Geraldton has been granted bail to live with his sister and her eight-year-old son.
The man – who cannot be named for legal reasons – appeared in Geraldton Magistrate’s Court today, charged with two counts of indecently dealing with a child over 13 and under 16.
The man did not enter pleas, but his lawyer said he intended to plead not guilty.
He was granted bail on the condition he does not approach or contact the victim and is not to be alone in the company of any child under 16 – except his nephew.
He is also forbidden to drink alcohol in public or at a licensed venue, and must submit to breath testing if police suspect he is drunk in public.
