Australian magician Cosentino making his way to Geraldton for a show-stopping immersive experience

An evening of wonder — featuring grand illusions, appearing, disappearing, levitating, and teleporting — is making its way to Geraldton, with renowned magician Cosentino performing at Queens Park Theatre on April 18.
He will be performing his newest show, Cosentino — Tricked: An Evening of Wonder, featuring close-up magic where audience members are invited on stage in an interactive and immersive experience.
The tour began in Queensland and has since focused on visiting several regional towns alongside the major cities.
Cosentino is not a newcomer to Geraldton, having previously toured in 2008 before his claim to fame on Australia’s Got Talent in 2011, and again in 2021 and 2024.

“You can’t just do the five major capital cities. That’s not a tour . . . Australia is huge. You have to do a proper tour. You’ve got to take it around the country and let the people experience it,” Cosentino told the Geraldton Guardian this week.
His tour promises a mix of comedy, drama, special effects, heart and soul, aiming to provide a complete and memorable experience.
Cosentino opened up about his childhood and said he was “very shy, and magic helped (me) to read, and it built up (my) confidence, and (I) gained self-esteem through it”.
Magic is not just a hobby for Cosentino, it’s his lifestyle. He lives and breathes magic, and it’s how he met his wife.
“Magic is my passion, it is my hobby, but it is also my living,” he said.
His family was also deeply involved in his magic — his brother and father, both structural engineers, help develop and create his show.
Cosentino said when he first comes up with a new escape and starts to bring it to life, “and you finally see it, let’s say, like the final apparatus, or whatever it is, and you go, ‘oh’ . . . it is quite scary to begin with.”
The pandemic took a hit to Cosentino’s magic because he wasn’t performing and felt challenged when he got back, and that, “stopping live shows led to a loss of skill and fitness”.

With his new show, he guarantees new tricks, audience participation, interactive experiences, lots of storytelling, laughter and fear.
He encourages everyone in Geraldton to “support Australian entertainment” and to “buy tickets and come and see it live” as the experience is “much more potent and better in life, in person, guaranteed”.
“Bring the family, get the kids off the devices. Have a night out, go out, have dinner before, come to the show and experience this live entertainment together and see something you’ve never seen before,” he said.
Tickets are selling fast. Visit the QPT website for more information. The Saturday, April 18 show starts at 7.30pm.
