Axe-wielding armed robber pleads guilty

A Geraldton man has admitted smashing a car window and threatening a man with a tomahawk before stealing $600 cash.

Cyril Maitland Ugle, 38, appeared before Geraldton Magistrate’s Court today by video-link from Greenough Regional Prison and pleaded guilty to armed robbery.

The incident happened in Spalding on January 30.

Magistrate Chris Miocevich requested pre-sentence and psychological reports.

Ugle will be sentenced in the District Court at Geraldton on August 5.
