Bachelor reality TV star Ellie Rolfe reveals on social media she was groped while on morning walk in Geraldton

A Geraldton reality TV star and influencer has opened up about an incident during which she was groped by a stranger on a bike during her morning walk this week. Ellie Rolfe posted about the sexual assault on her Instagram page, telling her 28,000 followers “it is never OK to inappropriately touch anyone without consent. Shocked!” The former Bachelor contestant, who was the final woman picked by one of three bachelors in last year’s season, was walking in Wandina on Tuesday morning when the incident unfolded. “I was just on my morning walk and this boy probably around my age (30) rode his bike past me and said hey to which I acknowledged politely,” Rolfe posted. “Then he followed me around the block twice and circled back and rode up behind me and fully groped my ass . . . it knocked my phone out of my hand cos it gave me such a fright and I looked up and he just zoomed off on his bike!” Rolfe said she had “no words” for how to respond to the assault that left her shocked and scared. “How is that OK in your head! Huge mental health advocate and you never know what someone is going through but this is just utter disrespect and scary! Not even safe on a bloody morning walk in broad daylight,” she posted. In a further post, Rolfe said she was “gobsmacked” by the response from her followers. “I was not expecting that at all . . . crazy to think I actually thought I shouldn’t post/share cos I felt ‘petty’, which speaks to how women are made to feel in these scenarios I suppose,” she wrote. “So many people expressing similar things happening to them in places they should feel safe . . . which should be everywhere really!” Rolfe called for greater awareness and an end to feeling ashamed about sharing experiences. “I don’t want to be sexist but we also need to educate our young boys so they grow into men who know how wrong this behaviour is, and how detrimental it can be,” she posted. It is understood the incident has not been reported to police.
