Blaze burns out 200 hectares

Fire crews have extinguished a blaze near Geraldton which burnt out about 200ha of land.

A City of Greater Geraldton spokeswoman released a statement at 2.25pm yesterday saying the fire, north-east of Walkaway, had been put out and no assets or infrastructure were lost.

The fire was first reported about 10.30am on Wednesday.

Inquiries into the cause of the fire are continuing.

About 25 volunteer bushfire brigade firefighters and plant operators were involved in the firefighting efforts.
