Just over a year has passed since Ash Grunwald stunned Geraldton residents with his incredible set at the 13th Nukara Music Festival.

And the blues and roots musician is back this weekend for another night of blistering guitar solos under the stars.

Grunwald will hit the Vibe Nightclub’s new carpark stage on Saturday, supported by Fremantle-based Tom Fisher and the Layabouts, singer-songwriter Karin Page and acoustic muso Ben Catley.

With eight studio albums and five ARIA nominations under his belt, there’s no denying Grunwald is one of Australia’s most-loved bluesmen.

Grunwald is working on a new album, which is expected later this year.

But a new album isn’t the only thing fans can look forward to this year.

The musician will also release his debut book, Surf by Day, Jam by Night — a collection of interviews and stories with some of Grunwald’s closest friends, including Kelly Slater and Pete Murray.

Grunwald has also recently started a new podcast series, Soulful Conversations, which explores mindset, health and reaching your goals.

Tickets to the gig are available at eventbrite.com.
