Bob Griechen and Harry Evans make final cut for selection in the under-20s National Championship

A pair of young Buccs have been called up to represent WA in the under-20 National Championships. Bob Griechen and Harry Evans were two of just 12 players that made the final cut in the combined metro and country State side for the championships. The U20 National Championship will be held in Ballarat in Victoria, with the sides taking on some of the best young basketball talent from across the country. Griechen and Evans’ selection follows from last year when Buccs teammate Tom Dobson was the only Geraldton selection in the side. Dobson and the WA side went on to win the championships for the first time in 22 years, and this year’s squad will be looking to repeat their efforts. Griechen comes with recent experience, as he made the cut for the under-18 country WA squad last year. Locally, both players have been in top form with Griechen leading the GABA division one in scoring, averaging 32.8 points per game while Evans has been the primary ball handler for a strong Pumas side and averaging 15.4 points per game. WA’s first game in the championship will be against Victoria on January 30.
