Brayden Inger leaves Geraldton Buccaneers for NZ’s Southland Sharks

Buccaneer Brayden Inger has left Geraldton to play in New Zealand’s national basketball competition. The small forward and shooting guard, who won a State Basketball League championship ring with the Buccs in the competition’s last-ever season in 2019 and played in this year’s West Coast Classic tournament, will turn out for the Southland Sharks in the upcoming New Zealand NBL1 competition. Inger, a New Zealander who spent two seasons in Geraldton, confirmed he had completed hotel quarantine back hom and was looking forward to the season. Separately, the Buccs announced they had signed 29-year-old Queenslander Jonathon Mines, a 1.93m shooting guard with professional experience in Europe and the Eastern States. “Jonathon will add some speed and scoring power in the guard spot,” according to a Buccs statement.
