Brilliance of The Seas visits Geraldton with more than 2500 passengers and crew as cruising season winds down

A massive cruise liner which docked in Geraldton this week brought with it the most passengers and crew the city has ever seen. Brilliance of The Seas, a ship from Royal Caribbean Cruises, arrived on Tuesday, bringing with it 2543 passengers and crew. It is the highest number of passengers and crew to come to the city on the cruise, but not the biggest ship. A sister ship, Radiance of The Seas, has previously visited and had a similar capacity, carrying 2466 passengers. Brilliance of the Seas had been in Darwin before it reached Geraldton, docking for a day before it set sail to Fremantle. It is the third last cruise to visit Geraldton before the season comes to a finish in early May. Coral Princess with a capacity of 1974 passengers and crew is expected to dock in Geraldton on March 14 on its way to Fremantle, coming from Broome. The season will end with Pacific Explorer on May 1 with 1998 passengers and crew on board and on its way to Fremantle Port coming from Broome. The 2023 cruise season was the biggest to date, with 11,240 total people visiting the city, resulting in more than $3.3 million being injected into the local economy.
