Buccs bounce back after loss to reigning champs

The Quadrio Earthmoving Geraldton Buccaneers recorded a victory at the back end of their opening weekend of the 2018 SBL season, to sit .500 heading into round two.

Ray Evans’ side began the two game road trip with a tough 100-81 loss to the reigning premier Perth Redbacks last night at Belmont Oasis, before bouncing back with a gritty 89-85 win over the East Perth Eagles today.

Top scorers for the Buccs were: game one - G. Natesan 34 points, C. Lasher (18) and M. Alipate (12); game two - A. Ralph (26), C. Lasher (23), M. Alipate (18) and G. Natesan (17).

The Buccs will return to Geraldton’s Activewest Stadium next Saturday night, where they will face the Rockingham Flames.
