Police have charged a 31-year-old Wonthella man with a raft of offences relating to two burglaries in the Geraldton area.

Geraldton Police Station operations manager, Sergeant Drue Pardoe, said the man was a person of interest but had been “actively avoiding” police.

Acting on a tip-off from a member of the public, officers executed a search warrant at a property on Chapman Road, Glenfield, where they arrested the man about 8.30am on Friday.

Police will allege they found a number of items in the home that were stolen during the burglaries.

The man was charged with two counts of burglary, four counts of stealing, criminal damage, unlawful damage, and trespassing.

A 45-year-old Glenfield man was also charged with possession of cannabis and methamphetamine.

Both will face Geraldton Magistrate’s Court.
