It’s a phone call many Geraldton businesses are used to. And this year will be the 30th time some of them will have received it.

The Rotary Club of Geraldton’s annual hunt for Radio Auction donations kicked off last week at the former Telstra Exchange building on Chapman Road.

Rotarians and community helpers had the normally dead phone lines running hot in a bid to drum up donations for the club fundraiser.

Rotarian Di Gilleland said volunteers were looking for some different kinds of donated items this year.

And she has asked businesses to think outside the box when deciding what service or product to donate.

The auction will be held on October 27.

Proceeds will be given to help local community causes throughout the year.
