‘Significant’ cannabis, cash and amphetamines seizures in Mid West
Police in the Mid West have seized about half a kilogram of cannabis, thousands of dollars in cash and amphetamines worth an estimated $15,000.
Acting Sergeant Gill Simpson of Geraldton Police Station said seven officers from the Volume Crime Team executed a Misuse of Drugs Act search warrant on a house in Rangeway about 7.30am.
During the search, they allegedly found 583 grams of the drug, along with $3185 in cash, scales, smoking implements, a taser torch and a butterfly knife.
The cannabis was allegedly found in the roof space.
Acting Sgt Simpson described the drug seizure as significant.
“It would have been expensive to purchase,” she said.
A 29-year-old man is assisting police with inquiries.
Earlier today, police at Jurien Bay tweeted about a $15,000 amphetamine seizure.
The tweet said an adult man had been refused bail in relation to the incident.
