Carols by Candlelight at Maitland Park offers free family activities and performances, food trucks and prizes

Maitland Park will be lit with Christmas cheer at Geraldton’s Carols by Candlelight family event, where children can sing, pray, play and compete in fun competitions. Geraldton Carols by Candlelight 2022 will leave children surrounded by fun family activities leading into the festive season on Sunday, December 11 from 5pm. Face painting, pony rides, bouncy castles, inflatable archery and plenty of fun, games and prizes will be on offer. The carols show begins at 7pm with performances from local artists including the Geraldton City Band and St Francis Xavier School Choir. Plenty of food trucks will be at the event to feed big and small bellies, and those who forgot candles can purchase some on the night. Candles by Candlelight media coordinator Lizzie Fairall said last year’s event was a success and it was always regarded as a family favourite. “It’s going to be a great event, a free family event where everyone is welcome. It’s so great we can all meet together this year to sing together and celebrate Christmas together,” she said. “Last year was a great turnout, we’re encouraged knowing it’s a favourite family event. We’re looking forward to the Geraldton community joining us again.” Carols by Candlelight is an alcohol and smoke free event.
