Casuals still undefeated as Cardinals avoid scare in week 16 of the Geraldton Hockey Association

Top-of-the table Casuals dominated their bottom of-the-ladder opponents in week 16 of the Geraldton Hockey Association.

In the Saturday matches the unbeaten Cardinals avoided a shock against the Saints with a 2-1 win as Sian Russell and Sharnee Williamson cancelled out Belinda Burrows scoring for Saints.
Australs cemented themselves as best of the rest with a 2-nil win over the Swans
Men’s A-reserve also had double-headers across the weeks. Ladder-leading Casuals swept past Murchison 4-0 with Angus Grant, Zak Williamson, Will Bateman and Darren Shepley all scoring.
Yacht Club won a high-scoring shoot-out over the Saints 4-3 a Jay O’Sullivan double proving the difference.
In the Saturday matches Casuals beat the Saints 1-0 as Jamie O’Brien scored the only goal.
Yacht Club won their second game of the week as Jay O’Sullivan got his second double of the week in the 3-1 win over the Rovers.
In the Women’s A-reserve Saints Gold had a comfortable 2-0 win over Australs with Chelsea Bradburn scoring both goals.
The struggling Swans and Vets fought it out for a 2-all draw while Yacht Club and Murchsion had a 1-all draw.
Cardinals had to forfeit their clash gifting two points to Saints Black.
