A group of Allendale Primary School students will have a hand in educating kids for years to come after a book they wrote on feral cats was recently published.

The book, titled A Feral Cat-Astrophe, was written by five students last year after a Northern Agricultural Catchments Council employee visited the school to discuss the negative impact of introduced species.

The new book was launched recently and will be available in the Allendale library and as an NACC resource.

Biodiversity program co-ordinator Jessica Stingemore said she hoped the students enjoyed the creative exercise and learnt a thing or two about pests.
