Caught red-handed

Geraldton police have nabbed a graffiti vandal who allegedly went on a spray-painting spree in Spalding on Friday morning.

Police were carrying out patrols when they stopped an 11-year-old boy walking on Green Street about 8.30am.

After talking with the boy, they allegedly found him to be carrying a can of red spray paint.

Police then searched the area, allegedly finding a number of power poles and road surfaces that had been freshly sprayed.

Geraldton Police Station operations manager Sergeant Drue Pardoe said the boy was taken home and “placed into the care of a responsible adult”.
