Celebrate a local legend with a nomination for Community Citizen of the Year

The City of Greater Geraldton is calling on residents to celebrate local legends who go above and beyond, with nominations for the 2023 Community Citizen of the Year Awards now open. The Auspire – Australia Day Council WA, Community Citizen of the Year Award is an opportunity to acknowledge those who make an outstanding contribution to their communities. City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn said the region is home to some special people do special things. “The Community Citizen of the Year Awards is a fantastic way to really shine the spotlight on these people,” Mr Van Styn said. Categories include community citizen of the year, young community citizen of the year (under 25), senior community citizen of the year (over 65) and active citizenship (group or event). Nominations can be made at the official Auspire Community Citizen of the Year awards website. Nominations close on Monday, October 31, with the awards being celebrated at Australia Day events in Geraldton and Mullewa next year.
