A world famous Irish dancing show with a twist has made its way to the Mid West as part of its regional Australia tour.

Celtic Illusion – The Magic Returns has been travelling around the globe since 2011.

Show executive assistant Georgia May said there was nothing else like it and it had maintained its success because of how original it was.

“If you’re not really into dancing there’s definitely something there for you with the magic element, sometimes some comedy … we have a beautiful singer,” she said.

“It definitely wouldn’t be what you expect; a very modern take on Irish dancing. Everything is happening simultaneously.”

Ms May said this was an updated version of the original Celtic Illusion but no two shows were ever the same.

“If people have seen this show before, you are going to get a lot of a different show with new things,” she said.

“It’s human nature to want to be bigger, better, faster, stronger. We always try to make things better and bigger.”

While the show has performed all around the world in many big venues, Ms May said there was nothing like the regions.

“The regional areas are the best. I really enjoy doing some of the smaller places that the bigger shows can’t get to,” she said.

“In cities, audiences are a little more reserved but in the regions the crowds go crazy and we love it … they get rowdy and they’re into it.

“The regional crowds are the best crowd.”

The show will be in Geraldton on April 5 at Queens Park Theatre. For tickets, visit the QPT website.
