Central Regional TAFE Geraldton nabbed a national accolade at the 25th annual Australian Training Awards in Sydney last night.

The institution progressed to the finals in September after winning a State industry collaboration award for conservation efforts at the Houtman Abrolhos Islands and engagement with stakeholders.

Those involved in the project include the City of Greater Geraldton and convicts studying while incarcerated at Greenough Regional Prison.

Yesterday, the TAFE were presented with the national version of the industry collaboration award.

Australian Training Awards recognise significant contributions in the vocational education and training sector.
