The City of Greater Geraldton is aiming to re-open the Aquarena on Monday, May 18, with increased measures, pending favourable test results from the Department of Health.

There will be measures in place to ensure there is only 20 people at the facility at one time, including an online booking system on the Aquarena website.

Under the arrangement maximum time in the facility will be limited to one hour and no casual access will be allowed.

Only the indoor pool will be opened and the City said following State Government restrictions there will be no access to change rooms but toilets will be open.

Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn said the City was actively looking to see how it can open other facilities such as the library, art gallery and theatre under government regulations.
