This picture of the week is centred on a photogenic kangaroo who came out of the bushes to say hello one afternoon.

Stephen Pidgeon was roaming around with a friend at a farm in White Peak when this kangaroo popped its head out not wanting to miss a photo opportunity.

Pidgeon said the day was meant to be spent capturing pictures of birds, but the roo wanted all the attention.

“I was trying to shoot birds and he stuck his head up ... a different bird,” he said.

The crisp tones of the image make you wonder if the kangaroo is being friendly or was telling the photographers to keep away from his home amongst the trees.
