There were no upsets in the latest men’s round of the Batavia League Pennants as Geraldton continued to tighten their grip on the top of the ladder.

Geraldton Gold continue to be the standard bearers as they overcome a stiff Northampton outfit 59-53.

A big seven-shot win in rink two was enough to cover a four-shot defeat in rink three, giving them the match points 5-1.

However Geraldton Red did manage to close the gap to Gold after they had the rub of the green, coming out on top in a hard-fought match with Wonthellla Maroon.

A one-shot win in rink one and three shots on rink two gave them the match points. Maroon were unlucky to come away with only half a point from their endeavours.

Wonthella Gold took the match against bottom-of-the-ladder Denison White but missed out on the opportunity to close back in on the top two.

Their 19-shot win on rink two flattered the scoreline, which saw them lose rink three and settle for a draw in rink one in a match they would have been hoping to sweep.

Geraldton Blue kept their slim finals hopes alive with a big win over Wonthella Green 76-46.

Big wins on rinks one and two made sure they easily came away with the match points, but they dropped a point in a one-shot loss on rink three.

It could prove crucial as they sit 7.5 points outside the finals with just two rounds left to play.

Denison Blue moved into the top four thanks to a 70-46 shot win over Mullewa.

They were denied a sweep by a four-shot loss in rink two but their five points were enough to put them in control of their finals fate.
