Country WA and PFL draw in exhibition match featuring State’s top talent with GNWFL well-represented

The New Hollands Country State women’s side clash against the Perth Football League women’s team ended in a 7.8 (50) to 8.2 (50) draw. Four representatives from the Great Northern Women’s Football League suited up for the country side as they faced the top talent from Perth in an exhibition clash. Towns’ Jessica Giudice-Narin was the team’s vice-captain, and she was supported by Bulldogs teammates Gemma Dix and Emilee Beven, along with Chapman Valley’s Andie Payne. Despite not having played or trained together before the match, the Country WA side got the jump early, taking a 7.1 (43) to 4.3 (27) lead at half-time. But Perth stormed back late and tied it up with the match eventually ending in the 50-all draw, with Dix booting a goal in the deadlock. In the third game of the series between the two sides, a clear winner has still not been decided, with the country girls taking the win in 2021 and PFL in 2022, the third match and decider was a tie.
