A man and woman will be airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital after two vehicles collided on Indian Ocean Drive today.

A WA Police spokeswoman said the crash happened about 12.30pm, near the intersection of Seaview Drive, north of Lancelin.

She said occupants suffered serious, but non life-threatening injuries.

A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson said the RAC Rescue helicopter would transport a man and woman to Perth and was expected to land at hospital later today.

A motorist told The Geraldton Guardian the road was open about 1pm and emergency crews — including police, ambulance and fire brigade — were at the scene.

The crash was causing some traffic delays.
