A small gathering at Geraldton foreshore saw returning officer Michelle Harvey declare Lara Dalton elected Member for Geraldton on Monday.

Although The Midwest Times was confident of the result it could not be officially declared before all votes had been counted and all preferences distributed.

Member for Moore Shane Love was declared officially re-elected last week at the WA Electoral Commission counting centre in Perth.
