Derby star on a roll in business community

Emma Jackson is the president of the Apex Club of Geraldton.
She is also a roller derby star and this weekend will skate between her loves.
Ms Jackson will be a key player on and off the rink.
Apex Geraldton is hosting a get-together of WA Apexians at Greenough, while 35km down the road, she will represent the Sin City Rollers (Geraldton) in a roller derby championship at Dongara.
The Geraldton businesswoman fell in love with Apex at her first meeting.
“To me, it’s about creating the community I want to live in, it’s about the giving back to the community, supporting people and places,” Ms Jackson said.
“The rewards in helping people, that’s why I joined.
“The skills one gets from hands-on jobs are amazing. I’ve learnt to use tools on service projects and run meetings, benefits you would not otherwise get.
“This weekend, we have Apexians from clubs in Perth, Bunbury, Busselton, Wongan Hills, Katanning and Corrigin visiting.”
In between, roller derby women from Margaret River and Albany will see the other side of Emma “KrakEM” Jackson at Dongara.
